sisters in Christ. If you would like more information on how to register in our

St. Clement Parish
was established on October 1, 1951, as a parish of the Archdiocese of San
Francisco. On January 13, 1962 we became part of the newly created Diocese of
Oakland. Priests of the Diocese were entrusted with the pastoral care of the
parish. In 1980, St Clement Parish was then entrusted to the Congregation of the
Holy Cross, a religious order of priests and brothers.
We take our name
from Clement, a priest and martyr of the early Church who was the third pope to
succeed St. Peter. He is remembered for his love of the Gospel he preached and
for the peace and unity he encouraged among the people of the early Church. His
feast day is celebrated on November 23.
The Latin root of
"clement" means mercy and tender, qualities seen in the life of
Clement. As the Church of St. Clement, we desire to be witnesses of these same
kind of Christian virtues in the generosity and hospitality we show to one
another and to all.
It is our desire to
fulfill our mission through:
-
Worship and
Prayer
-
Sacramental
Preparation
-
Education
-
Service
-
Administration
We invite you join
us in the ministries of the community of St. Clement.
